About Edith Cowan University

Edith Cowan University was established as Claremont Teachers College in 1902, going through multiple name changes and mergers of other teacher training colleges to form the Western Australian College of Advanced Education until becoming a public university in 1991. This makes ECU the product of the first institution offering higher education in Western Australia. The University is named after Edith Cowan, the first woman to be elected to an Australian parliament. ECU has eight teaching schools; Business and Law, Arts and Humanities, Education, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, Science and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. ECU have the largest offering of Psychology and Community Studies courses in Western Australia. Edith Cowan University has three campuses across Western Australia, offering more than 300 courses. ECU’s headquarters are at the metropolitan Joondalup campus, accompanied by the Mount Lawley campus and the regional South West Campus in Bunbury. Edith Cowan is founded in a history of education and social progress, delivering high class education in start of the art buildings.

About the Co-op

The Co-op was birthed in the late 1950’s by two students wanting to reduce the cost of textbooks for themselves, and their fellow students. Realising that together they could all save money on textbooks, they formed the Co-op, now the largest member-owned retailer in Australia. The Co-op exists for you, and our team are working hard to ensure you get the best prices on your textbooks from any Australian retailer – we’re pretty confident we can, which is why we’ve got our price beat promise for if you do happen to find a textbook cheaper elsewhere! Further to just textbooks, we also sell a range of technology products such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones, as well as practical stationery, candles for those stressful days and degree specific equipment. We’re happy to be able to help you find what you need for Uni, whether you’re at ECU Joondalup, ECU Mt Lawley or ECU Bunbury. If you’re lucky enough to find yourself at ECU Bunbury, we’ve even got a café complete with great coffee for those long days on campus! Come in and see us, we’d love to see you soon!
